Meet Dr. Silverstein

Dr. Silverstein is a board-certified dermatologist who grew up on Long Island and trained at Stony Brook University, where he served as chief resident. He remained on Stony Brook’s faculty for nearly 10 years, serving as chief of the inpatient dermatology consultative service and caring for patients with complex and challenging dermatologic conditions. He has now practiced in Suffolk County for more than 15 years and has built a practice serving many patients and their families. He believes in a patient-centered approach in which each individual receives thoughtful and respectful attention.

An Independent Practice

Dr. Silverstein strongly believes in the importance of private practice. IslandWide Dermatology is independently owned and operated, with no corporate parent or hospital ownership. Clinical decisions are made within the patient-doctor relationship, guided by your medical needs and Dr. Silverstein’s clinical judgment. Every patient is seen personally by Dr. Silverstein. There are no midlevel practitioners or rotating physicians; you see the same dermatologist at each visit, allowing your care to remain personal, consistent, and individualized.

Your Privacy

We value your privacy. We will not ask you to post online patient reviews or complete unwanted surveys after your visit. Your records are maintained in our practice’s electronic medical record system. We share information only as needed for your care, payment, and practice operations, as required by law, or with your authorization.

Respect for Your Time

We understand that you have a choice in whom you select as your physician, and we are honored when you choose to have your care with our practice. We treat you with the respect you deserve, and we value your time. We generally run on or close to your appointment time, and we rarely cancel appointments on you. We know that your life is busy too and that you have other places to be. We want your visit with us to be the least important and time-consuming part of your day.
